Adult Men's "Puck Skills" Clinic
Over the course of a one hour hockey game, the average player has the opportunity to handle the puck less than 90 seconds and takes fewer than and two shots on goal. This does not provide an opportunity to develop ample stick handling, passing, or shooting skills. Most adult players have never received proper coaching or had an opportunity to practice skills. This clinic will offer the chance to have a puck on your stick for a full hour and to practice core puck skills. As your comfort level with your puck control, passing and receiving skills improve, so will your enjoyment of the game. Our "Puck Skills" clinic is designed to not only teach you the proper skills but to provide an you with ample opportunity to practice them under the guidance or our instructors.
Our adult men’s "Puck Skills" clinic is intended for more experienced players and is designed to improve puck handling, passing and shooting skills. The curriculum in our "Puck Skills" Clinic will focus on proper stick handling, passing and shooting technique and will offer drills to put these skills to practice. Many of the drills will be divided into stations and allow for more small group instruction, providing the opportunity to work on these skills under the watchful eyes of our instructors.
The clinic will include six, two-hour ice sessions. The first hour of ice time will consist of a practice session focused on puck skill development. During the second hour, we will conduct a controlled scrimmage where we will concentrate on increasing the speed of play while offering individual instruction between shifts. Each session will also include a fifteen-minute "Chalk Talk" during which essential game concepts are introduced.
Our adult men’s "Puck Skills" clinic will also feature instruction for goaltenders. We will have a goalie coach at each session to offer specific instruction.
The Adult Men's "Puck Skills" clinic will skate at the Family Ice Center in Falmouth on Wednesday evening s at 7:20 PM beginning May 19 and will skate for six consecutive Wednesday evenings. The cost of this clinic is $225.00, which includes twelve hours of ice time, a high quality jersey, and over one hundred years of experience in developing hockey players. A deposit of $100.00 is due with your application, and the balance is due by the first session. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and space is limited to thirty skaters and three goaltenders.
This program promises to be a great workout and a lot of fun. We encourage you not to hesitate in returning your applications; our clinics fill quickly, and we are often forced to maintain a waiting list.
