Summer Youth Clinics
Our Summer Youth clinics offer young hockey players between the ages of 6 and 15 the opportunity to develop fundamental
hockey skills and to apply those skills each week in a
controlled
scrimmage.
We have divided our summer youth clinic into our three core divisions. Each division will skate once a week for a total of seven weeks.
* Junior Division: For players ages 6 through 8 who will compete at the Mite and Squirt level. The curriculum will focus on power skating.
* Minor Division: For players ages 8 through 11 who will compete at the Squirt and Pee-Wee levels. The emphasis is on power skating with some exposure to stick handling, passing, and game situation drills.
* Major Division: For players ages 12 through 15 who will compete at the middle school and early high school levels. The curriculum will include some power skating with more emphasis on stick handling, passing, and game situation drills.
Each division will skate two hours per week. The first hour of ice time will consist of fundamental instruction. During the second hour of ice time, we will conduct a controlled scrimmage where we will concentrate on increasing the speed of play and offering individual instruction during playing time. Between hours, we will hold a classroom discussion where we will focus on various topics including: conditioning; mental preparation;
and advanced team play.
Our youth clinics will also include instruction specific to goaltenders. We will have a goalie instructor at each session who will work with the goalies on skills specific to the position.
The each division includes 14 hours of ice time, a high quality jersey, and over 100 years combined experience in developing
hockey players. A deposit of $150.00 is due with your
application, and the balance is due prior to the first session.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and space is limited to 33 skaters and 3 goaltenders. We encourage you not to hesitate in returning your applications. Our clinics fill very quickly and we are often forced maintain a waiting list. Upon receipt of your application, we will send you a schedule and a conditioning program that we encourage you to work on in preparation for the clinic.
** Goalie registered in our Summer Youth clinics will skate at a reduced tuition of $150.
