"Goalie Only" Practices

Over the past three season we have made a significant effort

to improve our goaltending curriculum. We currently have 8

goalie instructors to our staff and have added more structure

around the practice plans for each weekly session. We will

also continue to offer "Goalie Only" practices as part of our Spring clinic. We began offering the "Goalie Only" practices

in 2003 and they have been a big success.

For Spring 2008, We will offer 2 "Goalie Only" practices

where all goaltenders in each of our Spring clinics are invited to attend. The "Goalie Only" practices are at no additional

cost. Both practices will be held at the Family Ice Center in

Falmouth. The first is on Friday May 2, 2008 from 6:10 PM

to 7:40 PM, and the second will be held Friday May 16, 2008

from 6:10 PM to 7:40 PM.

Goaltenders will be grouped by age and ability and the ice

will be divided into 8 stations. The practice will include

16 nets, 12 instructors, 18 shooters, and more than 200

pucks. Last years "Goalie Only" practices were an huge

success and this years promises to be even better. The

following is feedback that we received from the parent of

one of our goaltenders......

For the past 4 years I have spent one week of my precious

Maine summer in Massachusetts in order to give my son

Matthew the opportunity to attend a Goaltending School

and receive specialized goalie instruction. Thanks to your

superb Rousseau Goalie Program, this year I will not have

to leave Maine. The Goalie Program, that you included in

your Spring Session this year, was every bit as good as the

instruction he received in Massachusetts. The one difference

that we noted between the other program and your program

was the EXCELLENT shooters that Rousseau's provided.

Having so many talented shooters that could hit that glove

hand, blocker, or five hole time after time made your

program superior to any other program we have attended

in the past. Please continue providing the "GOALIE ONLY"

sessions during your programs. Thanks again for giving

us the opportunity to stay in Maine this summer.
