* Brooks Boucher accepts position as NYA Women's Asst. Coach

Congratulations to Brooks Boucher on his new position as the Asst. Coach of the North Yarmouth Academy Women's hockey team.  Brooks began skating with our program as a student in 1989 and became a counselor with us in 1996.  We look forward to Brooks re-joining our staff as an instructor this coming spring.  We wish Brooks success in his new role with NYA and look forward to skating with him in this spring.

* Katy Massey to play Div. 1 at University of Maine

Congratulations to Katy Massey who is attending the University of Maine at Orono and will play for the women's hockey team at the division I level.  Katy started skating with us in 1999 as students and we asked her to joined our staff as a counselor in 2006.  When her coach met with her to inform her that she had made the team, she sited her strong skating skills.  We look forward to skating with Katy again this Summer and wish her success as she prepares herself to play college hockey.  Katy brings the count of our counselors who are, or have played college hockey to 35.

* Amber and Jacki Aaskov to play at Nichols College

Congratulations to both Amber and Jacki Aaskov who have been accepted to attend Nichols College and to play for the women's hockey team.  The Aaskov twins started skating with us in 1999 as students and we asked them to joined our staff as a counselor in 2009.  They are both fine young ladies and great role models.  We look forward to skating with Amber and Jacki this Summer and wish them success as they prepare themselves to play college hockey.

* Brian Greene to play at Castleton State College

Congratulations to Brian Greene who was accepted to attend Castleton State College and to play for the men's hockey team.  Brian started skating with us in 2003 as a student and we asked him to joined our staff as a counselor in 2006.  He is a fine young man and a great role model.  We look forward to skating with Brian at our clinics this Spring and Summer and wish him success as he prepares himself to play college hockey.

* Shawn Rousseau leads TA to first ever boys High School state championship

Please join us in congratulating coach Shawn Rousseau and the Thornton Academy boys hockey team, the 2011 Maine high school hockey class A state championship.  We also congratulate coach Jamie Belleau and the Lewiston High school boys hockey team, Maine high school hockey class A state finalists.  Both coach Rousseau and coach Belleau are instructors at Rousseau's Hockey clinic and we look forward to skating with them in April.

* Scott Rousseau accepts a position as asst. Coach at USM

Please join us in congratulating coach Scott Rousseau on is new role as the Asst. Coach with the University of Southern Maine Men's hockey team.  After 13 years coaching at the high school ranks, He joins fellow Maine residents, and former Rousseau's Hockey Clinic students Mike Carpenter, Ryan Boucher, Kevin Smith, Tom Gosselin and Jon Rutt at the college level.  Coach Rousseau is a principle instructor with Rousseau's Hockey clinic and will be joining us again year leading several divisions including our Middle School and High School age groups.  We wish Scott success in his new role at the collegiate level and look forward to skating with him again this spring and summer.

* John Racine accepts a position as the Lewiston Maineiac's Goalie Coach:

Please join us in congratulating coach Racine on is new role with the Lewiston Maineiac's. Coach Racine started with Rousseau's Hockey clinic in 1998 as our head goalie instructor. He has been instrumental in the development of our goalie curriculum and will continue to oversee our goalie instruction and goalie clinics this season. In addition to coach Racine's role with the Maineiac's, he is also the goalie coach for St. Dom's High School and has worked with the goaltenders at Hebron Academy and continues to act as a goaltending advisor to Lewiston Youth Hockey. We wish Coach Racine success in his new role with the Maineiac's and look forward to skating with him again this Spring and Summer.

* Louise Roy accepts position at Hebron Academy

Congratulations to Louise Roy who recently accepted a position at Hebron Academy which will include assisting as a coach for the women's hockey team.  Louise recently graduated from Hamilton college where she was a four year member of the women's hockey team.  Louise joined our staff as a counselor in 2002.  She as recently re-joined our staff as an instructor.  We wish Louise success in her new position.

* Derek Kump signs letter of intent to Holy Cross

Congratulations to Derek Kump who has signed a letter of intent to attend and play goal for the College of the Holy Cross men's hockey team.  Holy Cross competes in the division 1 Atlantic Hockey Conference.  Derek joined our staff as a goalie instructor in 2007.  He is a fine young man and a great role model.  We wish Derek success as he prepares himself to play college hockey.

* Maddie Lane is accepted to Bowdoin College

Congratulations to Madeline Lane on being accepted "early decision" to Bowdion college.  Maddie will also skate for the Polar Bear woman's hockey team in the 2010-2011 season.  Maddie first joined our clinic as a student in the Spring of 2000 and has been skating with us every Spring and Summer since.  Maddie has been skating with us as a counselor for the past 4 years and we have had the privilege of watching her grow not only as a hockey player but as a fine young lady.  We wish Maddie continued success with her studies and hockey career and we look forward to skating with her again this spring and summer.

* Adult Woman's Clinic gets local press

On April 3rd, the Lewiston Sun Journal ran an article on our Adult Woman's clinics skating at the Ingersoll arena.  We enrolled over 60 ladies this Spring in two divisions.  For nearly half of these ladies, it was their first time ever playing hockey.... and they are having the time of their life.  Read the Article
