Our Program

Rousseau's Hockey Clinic offers hockey players of all ages

the opportunity to develop fundamental hockey skills. Our

program is progressive, offering instruction in Power Skating,

Passing and Puck Handling, and Advanced Team skills.

We have earned a reputation as the state's most notable

power skating Instructors. It is our belief that good hockey

skills start with great skating skills. Since our first clinic in

1986, our program has evolved and develops the complete

hockey player including goaltenders.

Our core youth program consists of Spring and Summer

clinics that extend over several weeks. Our Spring clinics

begin in mid April and run for 11 weeks through the end of June and our Summer clinics begin in July and run for 8 weeks through the end of August.

Developing as a hockey player requires a long term

commitment to training including physical conditioning and

rest. Unique in its fundamental philosophy, the success of

Rousseau's Hockey Clinic has consistently been proven.  It is

our belief that young players gain more when practicing over

a longer period of time.  We are committed to offering

programs that extend through a number of weeks.  As a result

of the constant repetition of task specific training throughout

these extended sessions, each player has ample time to absorb

concepts and to attain mastery over new skills.

Our practices are intense and our students and staff work very

hard. Our program has been proven not only to increase a

players intensity but to also improve his or her confidence as

we encourage them to carry the puck and develop on ice

creativity.

In the Fall we offer "Training Camp" clinics designed to help

players improve their conditioning and sharpen their hockey

skills in preparation for the upcoming season.  These

programs usually include five to seven hours of ice time

where we review and practice proper skating, puck handling,

and passing skills in an intense practice setting.  We also

introduce "Small Game Situation" drills designed to improve

on-ice creativity and to add a little fun.

In addition to conducting our own Fall "Training Camp"

clinics, we are also available for private Fall pre-season

programs.  These private programs include "Training

Camps", Power Skating Clinics, Checking Clinics, and

Goaltender Clinics.  Over the years, we have conducted

private programs for Casco Bay Youth Hockey,

Maine Coast Youth Hockey, Brunswick High School Girls

hockey team, Lewiston Area Youth Hockey,

Mid-Coast Youth Hockey, Waterville Youth Hockey,

Gorham Youth Hockey, Scarborough Middle School,

and the Skowhegan high school and Lawrence high school

Varsity Hockey teams.

Our most recent development is the addition of Adult hockey

clinics.  We offer both Basic Skill and Advanced Skill divisions

on the Spring and in the Fall.  These clinics are 6 two hours

sessions and follow our proven format of a one hour practice

session followed by a one hour controlled scrimmage.  This

format allow us not only to offer technical skating, puck control,

and passing instruction but to also provide instruction in game

situations.  Our adult clinics to date have been very successful

and we have had a lot of success helping adult players have

more fun playing hockey

Finally, we are available for Coaches' Clinics and to conduct

Select Team "Try-Outs.  Our programs have a reputation for

being intense and challenging and we provide sessions that

put prospective players in unique game situation that allow

them to highlight their talents.
